Meat Clerk Part Time

Job Summary

Receives, rotates, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats. Assists in merchandising seafood, rotisserie chickens, prepared foods, and cheeses. Provides assistance to Members by answering questions and recommending products. Maintains all cleaning and safety standards within the meat department.

• Carry out all assigned job functions with adherence to club policies and procedures.

• Maintain a friendly and positive attitude; work as a team to achieve goals and move with speed and agility.
• Assist Members by answering queries about meats, poultry, and seafood, and make product recommendations.
• Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood, including ground products.
• Assist meat cutter in packaging freshly cut meats and seafood, and may grind hamburger meat.
• Inspect and store meat upon delivery, ensuring all delivered products meet or exceed company quality standards.
• Ensure all meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases are fully stocked and rotate products by expiration dates.
• Follow guidelines for disposing of damaged or expired products.
• Receive and unpack meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the cooler and freezer.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas within the meat department.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Preferred: previous experience with fresh and processed meats, knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines, and prior work in a meat or deli department.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Work involves frequent moving on hard surfaces, occasional bending, lifting up to 30 pounds, and handling temperatures and cleaning agents. Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.

Starting compensation is $16.25 per hour. Salaries vary by location, education, and experience.
