Responsibilities

  • Conducts and interprets database checks and credit reports.
  • Performs data entry.
  • Provides direct support and service to the administration of the FBI Security Program, including logs, audits, analytical analysis, inventory, workflow tracking, maintaining schedules, and presentation briefs.
  • Provides support, analysis, and research into complex problems and processes relating to personal security.
  • Works on complex problems and provides solutions.
  • Advises supervisor of potentially controversial matters or those matters with far‑reaching implications.
  • Initiates or performs extensive FBI indices checks, arrest record checks, and similar tasks to obtain pertinent and identifying information for the cases assigned.
  • Recommends the need for polygraph examinations and/or interviews based upon analysis of all data available.
  • Composes appropriate communications to pertinent FBI HQ divisions and FOs to initiate procedures, setting forth any guidance that should be followed, including special qualifications desired of interviewers.
  • Determinations and resulting communications are subject to review and approval by the Government lead.
  • Summarizes all data provided and develops a formal written analysis of security concerns and their resolutions.
  • Establishes and maintains liaison with other FBI HQ divisions, DOJ, IC members, and other agency officials to obtain, develop, and/or resolve queries as required.
  • Coordinates or works in concert with other FBI components as required to surface, develop, and resolve various issues encountered.
  • Recommends new methods and procedures for passing and affirming clearances, including SCI/Regulations, FISs, EO, and DOJ orders.
  • Performs security assessment investigations and provides recommendations to the FBI HQ.
  • Reviews and analyzes requests for investigations concerning security clearances.
  • Prepares a detailed analysis of all information developed, including potential remedial or precautionary action to meet minimum security standards.
  • Assists with briefings and debriefings of individual cases as necessary.
  • Maintains electronic and hard‑copy logs.
  • Scans and uploads documentation.
  • Updates and audits electronic workflow tracking programs.
  • Provides customer service and appointment scheduling.
  • Uploads all official documents into the defined system of record, management, workflow, or tracking systems, files, and/or sub‑files.
Qualifications
  • Must have an Active Top Secret U.S. Government Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Associate’s Degree.
  • 1 year of experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience performing routine office administrative support functions.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to critically review and analyze various types of incoming material and investigative reports, discerning potential security vulnerabilities and identifying viable investigative leads.
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and use of the Internet to conduct research and/or open‑source checks for investigations.
  • Computer skills required: MS Office Suite proficiency.
  • Ability to learn new systems and applications.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment and relate well to others.
  • Ability to manage individual workflow effectively and improve processes when necessary.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers in written and verbal communications.
  • Positive attitude focused on customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to show initiative and commitment to company goals.
  • Ability to readily adapt to changing requirements.
