Senior Mechanic/Technician RoleAs a Senior Mechanic/Technician you’ll play a critical role in ensuring peak performance, taking charge of advanced diagnostics, precision repairs, and proactive maintenance on cutting‑edge equipment. It’s about leading by example, optimizing performance, mentoring the next generation of technicians. Your expertise fuels operational success, maximizes uptime, and pushes industry standards forward.
Key Responsibilities- Start your workday from home, servicing customers on‑site in a company‑provided van with the latest tools and diagnostic technology.
- Maintain and repair forklifts, heavy machinery, and material‑handling equipment across warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing industries.
- Deliver on‑site service with speed, accuracy, and professionalism—customers rely on you.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with precision and efficiency.
- Execute top‑quality repairs and preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and minimize breakdowns.
- Maintain WMH and customer equipment at peak performance through scheduled maintenance, inspections, and safety checks.
- Train and develop junior technicians, sharing expertise and guiding the next generation of mechanics.
- Set the gold standard in service, helping newer technicians refine their skills and elevate their careers.
- Work closely with clients, providing expert consultation, service recommendations, and technical solutions.
- Keep customers informed about service updates, repairs, and proactive maintenance.
- Maintain accurate service reports, repair logs, and work orders to ensure seamless operations.
- Uphold OSHA standards, industry regulations, and best practices to keep work environments safe and efficient.
- Work at diverse job sites in various weather conditions; be prepared for dust and noise.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, lift and move items weighing over 50 lbs; maintain vision for close, distant, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
- 5+ years as a mechanic/technician in material handling, heavy equipment, or automotive industries.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and industrial machinery.
- ASE certification (preferred) in brakes, electrical, diesel, and preventative maintenance; forklift certification a plus.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, equipment compliance, and workplace safety standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical‑thinking skills.
- Proven ability to train, coach, and guide junior technicians.
- Outstanding communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience with diagnostic software, schematics, Microsoft Office, digital work platforms, and fleet management systems.
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and results‑driven work ethic.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in various conditions, and travel within assigned territory.
- Valid driver’s license required for company van usage.
