Overview

Our client, an industry leader in manufacturing and industrial services, is seeking an Electrical Field Service Technician to join their team. As an Electrical Field Service Technician, you will be part of the Reliability Department supporting the Regional Reliability team. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Electrical Field Service Technician

Location: Chicago, IL Region

Pay Range: $87,360 - $104,000 DOE plus benefits

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical distribution systems and equipment including substations, breakers, switch gear, MCCs, protective relay systems, battery and UPS systems, and transformers up to 138kV.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance such as IR thermography, transformer oil analysis, partial discharge analysis, and power quality analysis.
  • Support root cause analysis programs for major failures and assist in identifying and resolving chronic electrical asset concerns.
  • Assist in turnaround planning and cost estimation of electrical work, ensuring optimal equipment performance.
  • Provide on-site or remote guidance to plant or contract personnel to ensure safe and effective work execution.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintaining medium voltage (5 kV to 15kV) electrical systems in an industrial environment.
  • Proven experience in installation, troubleshooting, and repairs of industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices for industrial electrical systems.
  • MUST HAVE BOTH MEDIUM AND HIGH VOLTAGE EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
