Shop Technician (Power & HVAC)

• Perform basic to advanced diagnostics on Generators/Compressors/Load Banks and HVAC equipment.
• Perform rent ready and safety inspections on Generators/Compressors/Load Banks and HVAC equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all Generators/Compressors/Load Banks and HVAC equipment as assigned.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and diesel engine maintenance, and assist other equipment mechanics with general shop and equipment maintenance as directed.
• Maintain service records and create warranty claims.
• Schedule and perform basic and Tier 4 diagnostics and equipment repairs to all types of equipment: document equipment status before and after rental (including work order detail during repair).
• Work with Service Managers and Rental Operations to ensure rental equipment standards are met.
• Dispose of hazardous materials in a responsible and safe fashion in accordance with company policy.
• Adhere to all safety standards as prescribed by Sunbelt management.
• Be available for on‑call emergency service as scheduled.
• Operate equipment as needed for repair and loading/unloading.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
• Complete SMFs, warranties, order parts, etc. in Wynne system.

• 3 to 5 years of technician experience with similar diesel equipment and Generators/Compressors/Load Banks and HVAC equipment.
• Possesses knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C, heater and shoring; possesses an understanding of diesel equipment, generators and air compressors.
• Provide mechanic’s tools of the trade; specialty tool provided.
• Understand basic refrigeration (EPA Certified).
• Understand electrical engines and controllers.
• Understand compressed air treatment (dryers/filters/after cooler).
• Able to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments.
• Have an operational process/system aptitude.
• Experience with similar equipment preferred.
• Experience with Cummins, Isuzu, Volvo Penta and/or John Deere Diesel engines preferred.

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 80 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with applicable laws.
