The Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Madison, AL. This role is responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC system issues, performing maintenance and repair on a variety of residential and commercial equipment, and completing preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. The technician will respond to service calls, inspect systems, recommend solutions, and accurately document work performed.
Day-to-day tasks include communicating clearly with customers about system status, providing honest recommendations, and ensuring each visit supports comfort, safety, and customer satisfaction. The technician will also follow all safety standards, comply with applicable codes, and collaborate with the team to meet scheduling and quality goals.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and experience performing maintenance & repair on HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of and commitment to preventive maintenance practices to extend equipment life and improve performance.
- Focus on customer satisfaction, with clear communication and professional, respectful service at every visit.
- EPA certification (or ability to obtain) for safe handling of refrigerants and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Familiarity with modern HVAC equipment, controls, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, service manuals, and work orders.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for travel to customer locations.
- Physical ability to work in varied environments, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Prior experience as an HVAC technician or completion of an accredited HVAC training program preferred.
- Commitment to safety, reliability, and ongoing learning of industry best practices.
