Software Engineer, Level 1

• Support modeling and simulations contracts for frameworks and tools
• Participate in architecture discussions, code design, development, review, delivery, and integration
• Develop code from written features in a collaborative environment
• Provide code-level insights to debug software
• Follow software engineering standards, language style guides, best practices, and configuration management processes
• Develop UI/UX components and front-end solutions using Storybook and modern Java/C++ frameworks
• Use Docker and containerization tools to support microservices and scalable deployment models
• Collaborate in an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence for sprint tracking, backlog grooming, and team collaboration
• Participate in mixed-classification and distributed computing environments for development, deployment, and testing
• Break down feature-development stories into actionable tasks
• Interface with systems engineers, software testers, product owners, and Lockheed program leadership

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience/combined education)
• 0-3 years of professional software engineering experience
• Active Secret clearance required
• Strong experience with at least one of:
  Java, C++, or the Eclipse IDE
• Firm understanding of UI/UX design principles and implementation
• Experience integrating with RabbitMQ, Storybook, Jupyter Notebooks, Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence), and Digital Agility
• Experience supporting DoD or aerospace/defense programs desired
• Experience with Open Splice software desired
• Experience with Test-Driven Development practices desired
• Background in distributed systems, local compute cluster platforms/cloud architectures, and containerized environments such as Docker or Podman desired
• Knowledge of OSF-G architecture or similar real-time frameworks desired
• Experience with modern .NET technology stack, including React, NodeJS, Type Script, and gRPC desired
• Experience with Dev Sec Ops  pipelines and CI/CD processes desired

Demonstrates expertise in software engineering principles, including UI/UX design, Agile methodologies, and containerization technologies. Proficient in Java, C++, and modern frameworks, with a strong focus on collaboration and integration in distributed computing environments.
