Team Lead (Yard Operations) – Horizon Auto Logistics, Vance, AL

Horizon Auto Logistics is expanding its operations in Vance, Alabama, and we are seeking a hands‑on Team Lead to support our yard, vehicle receiving, and accessory installation operations. This role is ideal for experienced drivers or yard professionals ready to take the next step into a leadership position while remaining actively involved in daily operations.

We are hiring full‑time Team Leads to coordinate daily work activities for drivers, ensuring efficient vehicle movement throughout the yard. The Team Lead plays a key role in ensuring safety, quality, and productivity by providing direction, monitoring execution, and acting as a bridge between frontline teams and Operations Supervisors. Multiple shifts may be available, and weekend availability is required. Overtime opportunities may arise depending on operational needs.

• Assign and coordinate daily tasks for drivers based on operational priorities.
• Ensure team members clearly understand instructions and safety expectations.
• Monitor work progress and adjust assignments as needed throughout the shift.
• Oversee vehicle movement, routing, and proper parking within designated areas.
• Conduct spot checks to ensure compliance with procedures and client requirements.
• Reinforce safety rules, PPE usage, and yard driving protocols.
• Communicate shift updates, changes, and issues to the Operations Supervisor.
• Assist with basic administrative tasks such as logs, task lists, and shift handoff reports.
• Support vehicle movement during peak times or staffing gaps.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in yard operations, vehicle movement, automotive logistics, or similar environments.
• Previous experience as a senior driver or informal lead preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work 8‑hour shifts, including weekends as scheduled.
• Comfortable working outdoors year‑round in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with no more than three moving violations in the last three years.
• Must pass a background check and pre‑employment drug screening.
