Shipping Supervisor

About the Role:

The Shipping Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of orders within the warehouse environment. This position is responsible for overseeing the shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that all products are picked, packed, and shipped in a timely manner. The Shipping Supervisor will lead a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance and support to optimize workflow and maintain high standards of safety and quality.

Additionally, this role involves monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with other departments to ensure seamless operations. Ultimately, the Shipping Supervisor is key to enhancing customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a warehouse or shipping environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management and shipping processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Experience with advanced Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Certification in material handling or safety training.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Manage and train warehouse staff on order picking, packing, and shipping processes to enhance productivity.
• Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage order fulfillment.
• Conduct regular audits of inventory and shipping processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate logistics and resolve any shipping-related issues.

Skills:

The required skills such as order picking and order pulling are essential for ensuring that the right products are selected and prepared for shipment. Proficiency in WMS is crucial for tracking inventory and managing orders efficiently, allowing the Shipping Supervisor to maintain accurate records. Inventory management skills are utilized daily to monitor stock levels and prevent shortages or overages. Material handling equipment knowledge is important for safely operating tools that assist in moving goods within the warehouse.
