Overview

The Town of Madison is accepting applications for the position of Meeting Support Clerk. This position may be virtual or in person at Madison Town Campus. Completed applications may be submitted online on the Town website isonct.org . This job posting will remain open until filled.

Position Purpose

The Meeting Support Clerk is responsible for performing responsible and self-organized clerical work, to prepare and file meeting minutes for the Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency. This work is performed under the direction of the Land Use Department. Meetings dates vary depending on the Board (see Job Description for scheduling). Meeting attendance may be virtual for the support clerk and all meetings are recorded.

Meeting dates may be subject to change depending on holidays and special meetings.

Qualifications / Minimum Training and Experience

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience/skills required. Candidate must be able to successfully complete a complex background investigation. Candidate must prepare and file meeting minutes with the Town Clerk in a timely manner. Candidate must follow all Freedom of Information (FOI) statutes for municipal meetings. Minutes shall be filed with the Town Clerk within seven (7) business days after the meeting.

Requires proficiency in Word or Google Docs.
