Part-Time Band Teacher (Grades 4-8)
Our Lady of Mercy Preparatory School (OLM Prep)
Our Lady of Mercy Preparatory School is seeking a part-time Band Teacher for grades 4-8 to join our vibrant, faith-centered learning community. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic educator or musician who is passionate about developing young musicians while supporting students' growth in confidence, discipline, and collaboration.
At OLM Prep, we educate the whole child-mind, body, and spirit-through academic excellence, character formation, and service rooted in our Catholic mission.
Position Details
* Part-time position (possibly 1 day or less a week)
* Flexible days and scheduling, determined collaboratively
* Instruction for students in grades 4-8
* Small class sizes, allowing for individualized instruction and strong student-teacher relationships
* Great option for retired band teachers
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging instrumental band instruction for students in grades 4-8
* Foster a love of music while building foundational and developing instrumental skills
* Support students in developing teamwork, perseverance, and performance confidence
* Prepare students for performances, liturgies, and school events as appropriate
* Collaborate with faculty and administration to support the mission and culture of OLM Prep
Qualifications
* Experience teaching instrumental music and/or band instruction
* Ability to work effectively with upper-elementary and middle school students
* Strong classroom management grounded in positivity, structure, and respect
* Willingness to support and uphold the Catholic mission and values of OLM Prep
