The Rehabilitation Therapy Aide, under direct supervision, assists therapists and assistants with the implementation of treatment programs and provides levels of support services, as needed, for the operations of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides Non-Direct patient care.
• Always helps maintain a clean treatment area and work environment, including listed aide duties.
• Provides appropriate telephone coverage and clerical support as needed.
• Helps with supply inventory and retrieval of equipment/supplies when needed.
• Interacts appropriately through clinical communication.
• Communicates clearly and timely with other departmental personnel, and other hospital personnel.
• Keeps supervisor informed of clinical issues, problems or concerns related to job role, and any other issues related to job performance.
• Keeps primary therapist aware of patient care issues

Intake Representative

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -(Performance Appraisal Competencies) include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provides exemplary customer service, incorporating empathy, responsiveness, fostering trust and resulting in a great patient experience.
• Greets patient, gives patient intake materials and HIPAA Privacy Practices, “attends” patient in EMR, and notifies staff/ provider of patient’s arrival. Obtains appropriate signatures on consent forms and creates and processes patient’s chart.
• Attends patient appointments upon arrival
• Open/close and balance cash batches
• Collects out of pocket expenses from patients at the time of service
• Answers inquiries regarding Gaylord Health Systems and assists patients, families and visitors in resolving problems

Scheduling:

• Schedules patients for therapist appointments.
• Cancels and reschedules appointments, optimizing use of provider time through efficient scheduling.
• Adjusts clinical treatment schedules as directed by the clinician
• Print schedules daily for clinicians

Pre-Registration of new referrals:

• Registers new patients by obtaining required physician and patient information, and updates patient demographics on return visits. Obtains, verifies and enters information into Meditech. Completes MSP Questionnaire accurately and completely.
• Works with other Gaylord departments, including Registration, Benefits, Radiology, Nutrition and PFS.
• Answers inquiries regarding Gaylord Health Systems and assists patients, families and visitors in resolving problems.
• Utilizes resources available to ensure clean data entered into the EHR system.
• Processes referrals, maintains pending appointment list and wait lists, scheduling appointments within 48 hours of referral.
• Responsibly completely responsibilities in a manner that is efficient and minimizes cost to the organization without sacrificing integrity and quality.
