SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Service Technician at Precision X-Ray is a Service Department position responsible for installation, maintenance, technical support, evaluations, case maintenance, customer support, and report generation, among other associated service tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Incoming Technical Support – Troubleshoot and provide direction as needed.
- Maintaining open service cases and updating as needed in a timely manner.
- Support in-office operations during non-travel periods by assisting with the customer support queue and service-related tasks.
- In-house evaluations and repairs.
- Perform on-site services, including system installations, preventative maintenance, equipment evaluations and repairs, relocations, upgrades, and user training.
- Collaborate closely with the Service Coordinator to schedule and communicate with customers effectively.
- Maintain detailed and accurate service records in the CRM, including service reports, equipment manuals, and customer communication logs.
- Travel up to 5 days a week, with occasional weekend work.
- Manage domestic and international travel requirements.
- Maintain the Field Service Kit provided by the company.
- Provide written work instructions as needed.
- Assist in-house service teams with customer support and factory repairs.
- Work closely with engineering and product development teams to provide feedback on product performance, suggest potential improvements, and highlight common field issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends, product advancements, and technical developments to continuously enhance personal and team knowledge.
- Perform additional duties as required to meet company objectives and goals.
- At least 2 years of experience servicing and maintaining X-ray devices or similar equipment.
- Experience working with high and low voltage electronics.
- Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, with the ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing both electronic and mechanical components.
- Familiarity with X-ray technology and related systems.
- Proficient in software diagnostics and system integration.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in conflict resolution.
- Proven problem-solving abilities, with a creative and critical approach to technical challenges.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Focused on providing high-quality customer service while aligning with company objectives.
- Comfortable collaborating with diverse teams across various industries, both domestically and internationally.
- Ability to ensure team priorities and goals are met or exceeded.
- Skilled in using various computer software applications, including CRM, ERP, and office tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, X-ray imaging, or a related field is preferred.
