Administrative Assistant for the Technology Department
This position serves as the administrative assistant to the Director of Technology and other department staff, and provides various support services for staff and the public. The position promotes positive public relations for the school district.
Characteristics Desired:
The ability to multitask and be flexible to the needs of the Technology Department. The ability to work independently and in a team setting. Must be able to be successful in a fast‑paced work environment. Excellent communication skills with strong organizational abilities are a priority.
Assisting the Data Management Specialist with data management tasks.
Education and/or Experience
High School Graduate with secretarial experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees at organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OtherSkills and Abilities
Must have strong communication, computer and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to learn and utilize new software programs as systems are upgraded. Typing with good grammar, spelling and punctuation. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education Policies.
