Summary of the positionTo ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the special services office/department so that the department's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function.
- Performs the necessary office routines, procedures, and practices associated with a busy, productive, and efficiently run special education/services department.
- Ensures proper and efficient Medicaid billing entry and documentation as well as other documentation entry needs.
- Maintains department and student records/files as required.
- Demonstrates prompt, organized, dependable, and efficient work performance.
- Collaborates professionally with colleagues and families.
- Communicates concerns, needs, and information directly to the special education director.
- Receives and routes incoming and outgoing calls and written communications.
- Responds to coworkers, community members, and families in a timely manner.
- Develops correspondence, forms, reports, certificates, etc. as needed.
- Takes initiative to identify areas of need and ways to improve efficiency.
- Assists principals, directors, teachers, the special education department, the programs assistant, the assistant superintendent, and families as needed.
- Participates in professional development, training, and new initiatives as requested.
- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible when needed.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset and is open to feedback.
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks for completion.
- Other duties as determined and assigned by the special education director and/or assistant superintendent.
