Bachelor’s degree in Education, valid state Teaching license or certification, and 1+ years Teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A special education teaching opportunity is available in Madison, IN, supporting a middle school student with Autism in a unique classroom setting housed at the central office. This role involves 1:1 instruction alongside a dedicated full-time aide/RBT, ensuring continuous support as the student transitions from a traditional classroom to this specialized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the student's needs, implementing strategies for Autism support.
- Collaborate closely with the assigned aide to coordinate schedules and maintain consistent support throughout the day.
- Manage challenging behaviors calmly and effectively, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in virtual meetings and engage in professional development as needed.
- Maintain compliance with the students Individualized Education Program (IEP) and district requirements.
Qualifications and
Experience:
- Indiana Special Education teaching certification is required.
- Proven experience working with students diagnosed with Autism.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, including coordinating with an aide.
- Strong communication and behavioral management skills.
- Comfortable with remote interview process and quick onboarding.
Position Details:
- Contract role starting ASAP through the end of the school year (late May).
- Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Work location is the central office, where a dedicated classroom has been established.
- No travel required; itinerant assignment is not applicable.
- Caseload is strictly 1:1.
