Adjunct Faculty - IVYT

Position Overview

Ivy Tech Madison is hiring an adjunct faculty member to teach IVYT – student success courses at the Madison Correctional Facility. The position is temporary, part‑time, and hired each semester on an as‑needed basis.

• Teach and facilitate student learning in assigned IVYT course(s).
• Provide a syllabus appropriate to the course(s) and follow syllabus content and requirements.
• Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy.
• Submit requested information within established timelines.
• Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions or provide assistance.
• Address student concerns and consult with the program coordinator when necessary.
• Meet all scheduled classes of the contracted course(s).
• Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, and other appropriate tools.
• Notify the program/department chair of any emergency absence.
• Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views, and promote diversity as an integral part of work.
• Oversee the IVYT transition courses at the Madison Correctional Facility.

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction.
• Faculty credentials as outlined in ASOM 7.1, as applicable to the specific area of instruction.
