PositionSummary
Manages activities related to engineering projects to define, develop and grow various technologies. Manages and coordinates the work of an Engineering staff, concentrating on assigned technologies or projects, with particular emphasis on the objective of developing and expanding corporate technical knowledge through process, material and electronic development, experimentation and documentation.
Position Duties- Lead the development, validation, documentation, and implementation of new technologies, processes, materials, and designs for manufacturing and product launches.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation through effective New Technology Introduction (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership to engineering teams, resolving roadblocks and ensuring projects meet performance, quality, cost, and timing requirements.
- Support manufacturing through new process development and resolution of recurring or systemic quality issues.
- Maintain deep knowledge of competitive technologies, products, processes, materials, and supply bases; propose and advance new technology concepts.
- Develop, review, and manage technical documentation, procedures, budgets, capital justifications, and tooling expenditures to support sound financial decisions.
- Manage workloads, provide performance feedback, training guidance, and clear task priorities to assigned personnel.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business development, sales, marketing, customers, and external partners to support forecasting, quotations, presentations, and product training.
- Communicate project status, risks, and progress to management and stakeholders while supporting organizational goals as directed.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited University, preferably in Materials, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required. Masters of Science in Engineering is a plus. Minimum 5 years leadership experience in a high technology environment. 10 years or more experience in the field of Lighting or LED’s is preferred.
