CNC Mill/Lathe Programmer and Operator Primary Duties- Program and operate mill machinery utilizing software such as Solid Works, run tool paths, and fabricate products that meet drawing specifications. Develop CNC programs for production runs using Mastercam.
- Ensure the quality of our products by following inspection protocols, detecting and correcting errors before products are released. Experience with precision measuring tools and equipment is required. Find go/no-go gauging for operations to use at the machines.
- Be comfortable working with minimal supervision, using various shop tools, and maintaining CNC machinery.
- Experience with Haas CNC 2, 3 & 5 axis mills, Okuma mills, Nakamura lathes, and Haas lathes. We are happy to train the right person for the equipment we have with the right aptitude.
- Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates.
- Modify and change existing programs for all machines. Prevent duplication of programs and manage the program vault.
- Maintain tooling database library.
- Work with vendors to find new tooling opportunities.
- Train operators as new part runs start, ensuring all safety and quality expectations are met.
- Develop new fixturing and better ways to manufacture.
Qualified candidates will be driven, detail oriented, and have proven working knowledge of CNCs including programming 3 and 5 axis mills, programming lathes, tooling, tool set up and changes, along with work set ups and change overs.
Education / ExperienceTo be successful, candidates must be able to multitask, prioritize, manage time efficiently, problem solve and be self‑starters. Blueprint reading skills and CNC operation experience are required. Completion of a technical or associate degree program is a plus. Experience with Haas, Okuma, Nakamura equipment and Mastercam experience are preferred.
