Technician, General Facilities Maintenance

Position Summary

As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician at a Walmart retail store, your role will involve executing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, and fixtures.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, food equipment) and tools.
• Use the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders, support store associates, and document repair activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.

• 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Can lift up to 50 lbs., move up and down ladders, work at heights, stand or sit for long periods, and work in various temperatures.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean record and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Vocational or Technical certification and either 1 year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade, or 2 years total work experience.

• Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical trade program.
• License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• Intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00–$35.00, with potential bonuses and premiums based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
