Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Accounting Manager responsible for directing and managing all finance and accounting functions for a large, complex agency.

• Formulate fiscal policies and operating procedures to comply with laws, rules, regulations, and GASB.
• Prepare and administer program or agency budgets in cooperation with the agency executive team.
• Receive and resolve questions and problems presented by business partners, Federal government agencies, local governments, State agencies, executive staff, and other employees.
• Ensure consistent application of accounting standards and maintain accurate financial records.
• Supervise and lead accounting staff, delegating tasks and managing multiple projects and deadlines.

• Bachelor’s Degree, typically with 7-8 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Understanding of general accounting standards (GAAP, International Reporting Standards, SEC).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and accounting software.
• Strong leadership, communication, and time‑management skills.

• Experience in a government or Medicaid‑participating organization.
• Knowledge of Medicaid reimbursement and reporting requirements.
