Job SummaryAssists in the successful maintenance of student records through performing registration functions, supporting daily operations, and communicating with students.
Responsibilities- Perform routine registration functions such as reviewing prerequisite requirements, verifying course, lab, and additional student fees, and processing class additions, cancellations, and drops/withdrawals.
- Maintain accurate student records and information within the student information system.
- Support UM students and the Registrar as an informational resource.
- Maintain confidential information and uphold UM and Registrar policies regarding confidential and sensitive information, exercising discretion daily.
- Receive requests from current and former students and university officials for official and/or unofficial copies of student records.
- Assist over-the-counter and telephone customers or generate and print the online version of transcripts.
- Process transcript requests, including over-the-counter, mailing/fax, and electronic.
- Collect payment for the transcript service.
- Compose and type or use prepared form letters, and email to answer requests or questions, ensuring FERPA regulations.
- Prepare cash reports and deposit monies in the Bursar’s office.
- Scan admissions documents into the electronic filing system and verify that documents are entered properly.
- Train and offer guidance to assigned personnel.
- Check, generate, and process third‑party transcript request services.
- Assist students in updating school records and verification letter.
- Perform related or similar duties as required or assigned.
- High school diploma (required).
- Relevant experience: 2 years (required).
Substitution Statement: An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
Compensation$16.94 - $25.42.
