About the TeamThe Stennis Test team designs, builds, and operates Relativity’s propulsion and stage test stands. Team members are hands‑on with large‑scale, complex systems—including fully integrated engines and stage assemblies—pushing hardware to the limits and directly contributing to flight readiness. The work is fast‑paced and highly operational, ideal for those with backgrounds in aviation, automotive, manufacturing, offshore operations, industrial systems, construction, or adjacent industries.
Collaboration between technicians, operators, and engineers is expected and encouraged.
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Civil Engineering to join our team at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. In this role, you will lead the development, design, engineering, and construction of Terran R test infrastructure, helping deliver next‑generation test stands and facilities. You will coordinate cross‑functional technical teams to define architectural, structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and industrial requirements.
You will serve as the owner’s representative with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies, while partnering internally with Infrastructure, Test Operations, and Vehicle teams to develop project designs, budgets, and schedules.
- Manage construction documentation, RFPs, bidding and evaluations, subcontractor selection and oversight, and on‑site construction management to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
- Coordinate cross‑functional technical teams to define architectural, structural, civil, electric, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and industrial requirements.
- Serve as the owner’s representative with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Develop project designs, budgets, and schedules in partnership with Infrastructure, Test Operations, and Vehicle teams.
- Lead the conception, design, and execution of complex projects from concept through completion.
- Manage field supervision, permitting, QA/QC, and safety for construction projects.
- Provide project status reporting to remote leadership and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Travel up to 25% to support design, construction, testing, and operations across Relativity sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the aerospace and/or construction industry, including a combination of field engineering and project management experience.
- Experience with design documentation, construction drawings, bid solicitation, contractor selection, construction management, field supervision, permitting, QA/QC, and safety.
- Experience in project scoping, budgeting, and scheduling at both the task and overall construction program levels.
- Experience with architectural, structural, civil, and MEPF design, construction, and operations.
- Knowledge of standard construction procedures, best practices, and means and methods.
- Proficiency working within 3D models using NX, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
- Experience with development permitting, land use controls, conditional use permits, and coordination with local government agencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven ability to independently drive projects while managing and reporting progress to remote leadership.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to read, develop, and interpret technical plans, drawings, blueprints, and models.
- Ability to manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and initiative.
- Adaptability to changing requirements, priorities, and constraints in dynamic environments.
Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the U.S. government to obtain clearance for on‑site work at our government partner location in Stennis, Mississippi.
