About the Agency

The Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC) is charged with enforcing the law and regulation of all casinos and charitable bingo operations under the Mississippi Gaming Control Act and Charitable Bingo Act. The MGC seeks to maintain the integrity of the gaming industry in Mississippi by (1) maintaining the integrity of gaming property and (2) maintaining the integrity of gaming patrons.

• Conduct routine monitoring visits to licensees in the district
• Perform regulatory inspections of licensees within the district
• Respond to complaints and disputes by gaming patrons, including issues with slot machines, gaming tables, and alleged winnings
• Fingerprint casino work permit applicants
• Process self‑exclusion requests for the district
• Investigate suspected criminal activity on licensee property
• Inspect all premises where gaming is conducted or where devices and equipment are manufactured, sold, or distributed
• Inspect all equipment and supplies on or about the premises of a licensee
• Carry and, if necessary, use agency‑issued firearms; maintain firearms proficiency and qualification
• Prepare detailed reports and present them to superior officials
• Testify in court proceedings and/or administrative hearings as required
• Attend training and perform other duties as assigned

• Work well with others

• 60 semester hours of college education
• State of Mississippi Law Enforcement Professional Certification
• 4–6 years of experience in law enforcement
