Duties
  • Research regulations, laws, and policies to provide basic answers for employee benefits.
  • Analyze and evaluate information for higher level Specialists for use in claims development and adjudication.
  • Communicate factual and procedural information clearly and orally to higher level Specialists.
  • Draft written responses to requests for information.
  • Provide technical assistance and solutions.
Conditions of Employment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications GS‑05

Resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS‑04 grade level or pay band in the federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems, technology, policies, and procedures.
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to public service.
GS‑07

Resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS‑05 grade level or pay band in the federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience performing administrative or human resources‑related work, such as assisting with personnel actions, staffing activities, document preparation, records management, customer service, maintaining data, or performing similar support functions.
EducationGS‑05

4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

GS‑07

One full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement.

Additional Information

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre‑employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
