About the Agency The Mississippi Department of Human Services is dedicated to serving others while providing a wide range of public assistance programs, social services, and support for children, low-income individuals and families. This position is with the Division of Economic Assistance and will be located in PIKE.

About the Position First-level vocational position responsible for following set rules and procedures to routinely gather information to make eligibility determinations and deliver direct services applicable to one of multiple eligibility areas and programs (e.g., food stamps, cash, medical assistance, workforce services, veterans’ loan eligibility, etc.). At this level, employees apply guidelines to calculate benefits and, if determined eligible, issue one-time or ongoing assistance.

Employees may also refer applicants to other agencies or other public programs or community resources. At this level, employees perform work under general supervision. May be required to perform case management work.

What you'll need to be Successful Dependable, punctual, team player, excellent organizational and communication skills, integrity, some data entry, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 0-2 years of experience.
