Overview
The Assistant General Manager will support the General Manager to help lead and support a team dedicated to delivering an excellent experience and revenue growth, with an opportunity to contribute to every level of the gym's overall success. The Assistant General Manager is an extension of the General Manager and will oversee all operations when the General Manager is not in the facility, including shared oversight of all CLUB4 Fitness operations in that assigned facility with focus on providing a superior customer experience, establishing community partnerships to enhance business-to-business relationships within the community, raising awareness and recognition of the organization, and driving membership sales, and in hiring, coaching, mentoring and developing a full staff within the established operational budgets.

- Sales duties to include making phone calls to prospective members who have visited the club or shown interest in joining via online communications. A strong sales background is helpful. Responsible for the overall sales numbers at the location.
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensure staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
- Provide support to the staff to help them grow while also developing their skills.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Regional Manager to address all issues within the club and online, involving both employees and members, ensuring issues are addressed in a timely and respectful manner.
- Promote a superior customer experience within the club and actively promote CLUB4 Fitness within local communities.
- Assist in growth of the Club business in regard to sales profit, motivate staff to achieve this goal, ensure accurate and timely daily deposits, monitor compliance with policies and standards.
- Monitor inventory, ensure adequate supplies, supervise payroll and scheduling to maintain adequate staffing at all times.
- Maintain a clean facility and ensure it can pass inspections; schedule and reassign staff to meet club needs in the absence of the General Manager.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information.
- Partner with General Manager and MOD to develop strong communication and foster an inviting experience for members and prospective members.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager, Regional Manager, or Managing Partner.
The position reports directly to the General Manager of CLUB operations under the direction of an assigned Regional Manager.
Required Qualifications- Knowledge, skills & abilities: hardworking, goal oriented, enthusiastic, energetic; strong decision-making and customer service skills; ability to work autonomously and in teams; strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer, math, and communication skills; knowledge of purchasing/sales web-based programming and fitness software used by CLUB4 Fitness; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Supervisory experience in a high-level customer service industry preferred; detail- and results-oriented with professionalism; strong communication, problem-solving, time management and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel to other clubs as needed.
- Education/experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2- or 4-year degree or four years of supervisory experience preferred; CPR/AED certification preferred.
