POSITION SUMMARY:

The CNC Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machining equipment used in the production of finished crankshafts and crankshaft‑related components, including counterweights and change parts. The CNC Operator plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, maximizing operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and customer requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate CNC and manual machinery as directed by Lead CNC staff.
  • Assist in the setup and operation of CNC equipment used to manufacture precision.
  • Run simple machines simultaneously while maintaining quality and production standards.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished components from CNC machines.
  • Assist with machine set‑up, tooling changes, offsets, and basic program adjustments under supervision.
  • Perform secondary operations including deburring, cleaning, degreasing, assembly, labeling, packaging, and inspection of parts.
  • Use precision measuring and inspection equipment to verify product specifications and quality requirements.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify product specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and basic GD&T requirements.
  • Identify and change tooling as required to maintain efficient machine operations.
  • Monitor coolant reservoirs and assist with fluid maintenance procedures according to company guidelines and training.
  • Monitor and consolidate metal chips from CNC machines into designated collection bins.
  • Complete required production, quality, and operational documentation accurately and timely.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness by sweeping, vacuuming, removing trash, and organizing pallets and work areas.
  • Assist in maintaining safe work conditions and report any unsafe conditions or equipment concerns.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, workplace organization, and 5S activities.
  • Work collaboratively with machinists, operators, and production personnel to meet production goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the CNC machining team or supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2‑5 years of experience operating machining equipment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of machining concepts, tooling, and CNC equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and basic technical documents.
  • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude required.
