Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Job Description

We are a small animal clinic located in Madison, MS. We have a unique culture and provide a hands‑on learning environment for externs. We will help you learn, grow, and become the best veterinarian you can be. We focus on quality medicine and quality client education and communication. Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing, assisting, or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. Additionally, student externs will develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Externship experiences range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.

• Designed for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.
• Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel and living expense stipend.
