Auto Mechanic Ii - Bus Barn

To keep the District’s buses operating so that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program

• Experienced in diesel / Auto Mechanic.
• Experienced with shop tools of all sizes.
• Able to understand oral and written instructions.
• Pass a written and / oral mechanical exam. Must hold a Mississippi Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Must have basic shop tools.

• Perform major and minor motor repair and replacement work on school buses.
• Tune motors using standard testing equipment and install radiator hoses.
• Check alignment of wheels.
• Replace brake drums.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Maintain records of all work performed.
• Work overtime hours as required to complete work assignment.
• Repair and overhaul brakes, ignition, and fuel systems.
• Respond to all emergency calls for bus repair as directed.
• Perform related tasks as required or requested.
• Participate in the district’s approved Staff Development Program.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Simpson County Board of Education Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

235 Days — Compensation Range: $15.25/hour - $23.97/hour
