Construction Manager/ Foreman, Operations Management, Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Site Manager
CMTA, formerly AMA Group, a Legence Company, specializes in MEP and critical infrastructure projects across the United States. We are seeking an experienced MEP Construction Project Manager to lead projects in New York City and New Jersey.
Clients include NBC Universal, Disney, NBC Sports, and A+E Networks.
Location:
New York City & New Jersey. Some out-of-state travel may be required.
- Lead and manage 4-5 projects across various sizes and scopes
- Review and understand all ongoing projects, drawings, and specifications books
- Review company-wide site safety policies and the Safety Manual
- Attend internal project kick‑off meetings with Estimators to ensure a clean transition from Estimating to Project Management; agenda includes review of awarded subcontractor scopes, client allowances, proposal notes and clarifications, client contract stipulations, etc.
- On newer projects, work with the Project Superintendent to generate: submittal list (in Procore), project directory (in Procore), project schedule and logistics plans, RFI log, permit and 3rd‑party inspection list, site‑specific safety documents; level of involvement varies with the Construction Superintendent’s experience
- Review specifications and submittals for pre‑purchased Mechanical and Electrical equipment prior to fabrication
- Lead weekly client meetings, creating agendas and preparing meeting minutes (in Procore)
- Establish weekly subcontractor project meetings at project onset and document minutes with the Superintendent
- Perform internal site safety audits as needed; ensure OSHA signage, safety orientations, training records, and toolbox talks are posted
- Coordinate laborers’ daily schedules with Construction Superintendents and oversee entry of all laborer hours for weekly payroll
- Pre‑construction collaboration with design team, AMA’s in‑house engineering team, and clients to develop scope, schedules, logistics
- Provide General Requirements and Conditions information to Estimating on potential projects for supervision, site cleanup, trash removal, etc.
- Expand Union and Non‑Union subcontractor bid lists
- Create Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for critical shutdowns or switchovers; include tasks, timeline, and detailed steps
- Lead change order management: collect costs from Sub‑Contractors, create and review Change Orders in Procore, issue to Client, follow up on approvals
- Liaise with accounting to ensure costs from Client and Sub‑Contractor change orders enter Sage accounting software; attend monthly meetings to review project budgets
- Provide input into Client and Sub‑Contractor monthly accounts receivable and payable to reflect current project status
- Address subcontractor scope disputes during construction
- Oversee project close‑outs, coordinating design professionals’ punch lists and permits/3rd‑party inspections
- Bachelor’s degree in Estimating, Engineering, or Construction Management
- 5‑7 years of Construction experience
- 2‑3 years of MEP Project Manager experience
- Proficient in Procore
- Working knowledge of MS Project and the MS Project Suite
- Experience working on cross‑functional teams within different offices
- Proven ability to work in a deadline‑driven environment
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently while managing multiple projects
$130,000 – $150,000
