Adjunct Professor of Philosophy-Spring 2024
Job Summary:
The School of the Humanities (part of the Maxwell Becton College of Arts and Sciences) at Fairleigh Dickinson University (
https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)./) is looking for part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach in-person sections of Ethics and possibly other Philosophy courses starting in Spring 2024.
- Teach in-person sections of Ethics (3 credit hours) on assigned days:
Monday‑Thursday 10:00‑11:15 AM and 11:30‑12:45 PM Eastern;
Tuesday‑Friday 10:00‑11:15 AM Eastern. - Possibly teach other Philosophy courses (schedule and credit hours to be defined).
- Ensure instruction is interactive, engaging, relevant to students’ lives, and potentially fun.
- Advanced degree (PhD preferred, Master’s acceptable) in Philosophy or a related field.
- Coursework, teaching, or professional experience involving ethics or moral philosophy.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
