Municipal Engineer – Madison Borough

Madison Borough seeks a full‑time, experienced Municipal Engineer to work under the direction of the Borough Administrator.

• Supervise and perform independent work in the complex phases of general civil engineering, planning, surveying, and inspection of construction sites.
• Manage public works projects, utilities, and related facilities.
• Communicate effectively with the Borough Administrator, governing body, municipal officials, employees, the general public, and general contractors.
• Maintain working relationships with Council liaisons and other boards and commissions.
• Inspect municipal infrastructure and civil site projects.
• Review planning and zoning board applications.

• 5+ years of full‑time experience in engineering, architecture, or a municipal environment.
• Valid NJ driver’s license.
• NJ State Professional Engineering License and NJ Certified Municipal Engineer Certificate.
• Advantage: M.S. degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college in Engineering.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SDL, GIS software, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to multi‑task, demonstrate sound judgment, and maintain professional relationships.
• Availability to work night hours as required.

• Salary range: $145,000 to $175,000, commensurate with experience.
