Participates in the coordination of the Clinical Phase (Professional Year II) of the PA Program, provides instruction, and analyzes students’ performance and overall program outcomes for the Clinical Phase.
Responsibilities- Participates in the coordination of Supervised Clinical Practice Experiences in the Clinical Phase.
- Actively participates in designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum and preparing syllabi for all courses in the Clinical Phase.
- Assists in analyzing supervised clinical practice experiences for appropriateness of settings, patient demographics, types of interactions, and diagnoses.
- Assists in scheduling required and elective supervised clinical experiences.
- Provides student instruction equivalent to one–two courses per semester.
- Prepares and reviews exams, collaborates on test construction, and analyzes item performance.
- Evaluates student performance and monitors progress.
- Assists in analyzing clinical curriculum outcomes.
- Assists in analyzing student evaluations of rotations and preceptors.
- Participates in the selection of applicants for admission to the PA Program.
- Participates in clinical site visits as assigned.
- Participates in the remediation process for students requiring remedial instruction.
- Serves as a faculty advisor, meeting with students and providing counseling.
- Attends and participates in PA committee meetings, program activities, and campus events.
- Participates in developing, reviewing, and revising the mission statement, goals, and competencies of the program.
- Serves on committees, assisting with minute‑taking and outcome reports.
- Contributes to the ongoing self‑study process and formal reporting to ARC‑PA.
- Serves as faculty leader for service‑learning events.
- Attends professional conferences, representing the PA Program and the University.
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience.
- Academic experience is preferred.
- Graduate of an ARC‑PA accredited PA Program.
- NCCPA Certification.
- Licensed as a PA.
- One day a week dedicated to Clinical Practice or Research.
- Available evenings for program events (e.g., Research Forums).
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
