The Midwives of New Jersey are seeking a compassionate and organized Midwife Assistant to support both the administrative and clinical operations of our midwifery practice. This hybrid role plays a key part in ensuring smooth, efficient, and welcoming care from the front desk to the birth room. The ideal candidate will be personable, detail-oriented, and passionate about client-centered, respectful care for women and their families.
Location:Madison, NJ office, with flexibility to travel to satellite office locations
Job Type:Full-Time/Part-Time
Key Responsibilities:- Greet clients warmly and manage front desk operations
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and manage email communications
- Schedule and confirm client appointments
- Maintain client records and ensure confidentiality
- Maintain office supplies and cleanliness of office
- Provide support during labor/birth/immediate postpartum to clients and their partners, as well as Midwife and nursing staff
- Capture photos/videos for clients during labor/birth/immediate postpartum and create slideshow
- Basic phlebotomy (training provided)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Doula Training (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask effectively
- Experience in maternal health, birth work, or clinical assistance
- Familiarity with birth center or home birth settings
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
- Will involve evening/weekend hours and on-call availability
- Collaborative team environment with a strong client-centered focus
