The College of Arts & Sciences at Dakota State University invites applications for a full-time (9-month) tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Our mathematics program offers four specializations:
Information Systems, Cryptography, Secondary Education, and Intermediate Education. A significant portion of our mathematics majors pursue double majors in computer science or artificial intelligence, and the majority of our math courses are designed to serve general education requirements and to support various Computer Science programs. The typical workload for this position involves teaching twenty-four credit hours per academic year.

The start date of this position is Fall 2026.

Required Qualifications:

* A Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field is required.

* Ability to teach undergraduate students, including a proof-based Introduction to Discrete Mathematics course.

* Willingness to teach online courses.

* Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities:

* The candidate will be expected to teach a variety of mathematics courses, both face-to-face and on-line, at the general education and upper division levels.

* The candidate will be expected to create engaging online content for online courses, which should include videos and appropriate assessments.

* Researching and publishing relevant scholarship.

* Active pursuit of grant and funding opportunities.

* Additional duties may include advising students, serving on university committees, assisting with recruitment activities and/or engaging in ongoing assessment.
