Cycle Counter

A cycle counter is responsible for counting, inspecting, and verifying on‑hand inventory to maintain high accuracy and integrity.

1st Shift Monday‑Thursday 5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

• Perform system‑generated cycle counts, verifying quantity and product accuracy.
• Use an RF handheld barcode scanner to process products during cycle counting.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, reconcile differences, and adjust inventory in the system.
• Tackle root causes of errors for corrective action and continuous improvement.
• Operate an order picker, standup reach truck, or forklift as needed to access products.
• Collaborate with auditors to understand cycle‑count procedures and perform counts required for auditing.
• Assist in maintaining warehouse and location cleanliness while conducting cycle counts.
• Lift up to 50 lbs safely, following proper lifting requirements.
• Record daily productivity on Progress Control Boards per the Lean philosophy.
• Meet or exceed daily productivity and quality standards.
• Adhere to the Company Safety Program and policies.
• Be willing to cross‑train in other warehouse areas as needed.
• Stand for extended periods and regularly lift multiple pounds.

• Self‑starter, motivated, and able to work independently within assigned parameters.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Basic computer and math skills; able to use a calculator.
• Experience using a piece/weight count scale.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Learning capability regarding Lean philosophy, continuous improvement, and learning to enhance processes.

• Preferred: experience with a barcode scanning system/handheld.
• Preferred: forklift certification (order picker, reach truck) and ability to pass the certification test.
• Cycle‑counting experience is a plus.

High school diploma or equivalent.

• Base pay: $21.00 per hour plus a potential quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. Actual pay will be determined by experience level, skills, qualifications, and work location.
• Position located onsite in Madison, South Dakota.
