A cycle counter is responsible for counting, inspecting, and verifying on‑hand inventory to achieve and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and integrity.

1st Shift Monday‑Thursday 5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

• Perform system‑generated cycle counts, verifying the quantity and product on‑hand is accurate.
• Use an RF handheld barcode scanner to process products while cycle counting.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies for reconciliation and inventory adjustments in the system.
• Investigate and help determine the cause of errors for corrective action and continuous improvement.
• Operate an order picker, stand‑up reach truck, and fork truck as needed to access products.
• Work with auditors to understand cycle count procedures and perform counts required for auditing.
• Maintain warehouse and location cleanliness while performing cycle counts.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs as part of the job function while meeting safe lifting requirements.
• Record daily productivity on Progress Control Boards per Lean Philosophy.
• Meet and exceed daily productivity and quality standards.
• Operate within the Company Safety Program and policies.
• Be willing to be cross‑trained in other areas of the warehouse as needed.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time and lift multiple pounds regularly.

• Self‑starter, motivated, and able to work independently within assigned parameters.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Basic computer and math skills, including use of a calculator.
• Ability to use a piece/weight count scale.
• Attention to detail and organization skills.
• Learn Lean Philosophy within the organization to focus on Continuous Improvement and processes that improve efficiencies and profitability.

• Previous experience with a barcode scanning system/handheld is preferred.
• Forklift certification (order picker, reach truck) preferred; must be able to pass the forklift certification test.
• Cycle‑counting experience is a plus.

• High school education or equivalent.

• Base pay $21.00 per hour plus a potential quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. Actual pay is determined by experience level, skills, qualifications, and work location.
• Position located onsite in Madison, South Dakota.
• Travel requirements: none.
