Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join an exciting team in Madison, Wisconsin. In this role, you will oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance, as well as handle some office management responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to handle complex financial tasks with precision.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and record journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

- Manage accounts payable processes, including timely invoice payments and vendor communication.

- Oversee sales and use tax calculations and filings to ensure compliance with regulations.

- Handle expense reimbursements and verify supporting documentation.

- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure data integrity.

- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related reports.

- Perform month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.

- Utilize Quick Books to manage accounting transactions and generate reports.

- Support office administration tasks to ensure smooth operational workflows.

- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to address financial inquiries and provide insights.

Requirements

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

- Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Accounting preferred

- Strong knowledge of general ledger processes and accounts payable functions.

- Experience with expense reimbursement procedures and month-end close activities.

- Familiarity with financial statement preparation and reporting.

- Advanced skills in Quick Books and other accounting software.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.

- Effective communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
