Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate processing, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This position offers a great opportunity to contribute to the efficiency of our accounts receivable processes.

Responsibilities:

- Process and monitor accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Manage commercial collections, including following up on overdue accounts and resolving payment issues.

- Apply cash payments to customer accounts promptly and accurately.

- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to address billing inquiries and discrepancies.

- Prepare regular reports related to accounts receivable activities.

- Maintain detailed records of transactions and communication for auditing purposes.

- Review and reconcile account balances to identify and resolve inconsistencies.

- Assist in the development and improvement of accounts receivable procedures.

- Ensure timely invoicing and follow-up to maintain consistent cash flow.

- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts receivable or a similar financial role.

- Strong knowledge of commercial collections processes and best practices.

- Proficiency in handling cash applications and reconciling payments.

- Familiarity with billing functions and related software.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong communication abilities to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.

- Ability to analyze and solve problems related to account discrepancies.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
