Our client is looking for a temporary Technical Accounting Lead to help with a 6-month project. If you are an insurance accountant who enjoys solving data problems, performing deep reconciliations, and working in large ERP environments, this is a unique opportunity.

Responsibilities- Prepare and approve complex journal entries
- Perform and approve balance sheet reconciliations
- Partner with IT to investigate and resolve reconciling variances
- Assist with data testing, data mapping, and large-volume queries into the GL
- Compile support for internal and external audit requests
- Analyze assigned balance sheet accounts and document key drivers of change
- Maintain strong internal controls and process documentation
- Support offshore accounting team
- Support ad hoc accounting and data analysis projects
- Degree in accounting required
- 5+ years of insurance industry accounting experience required
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
