Senior Cost Accountant

CFS is engaged with a leading manufacturer located in Madison looking for a Senior Cost Accountant.

• Lead the costing function through regular review and setup of standard costs
• Execute month‑end close activities consistent with current schedules – includes journal entries, reserve analyses, SOX, and account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate inventory records, including standard cost maintenance, cycle counting, physical inventories, and accounting for obsolete and out‑of‑spec inventory
• Check and clear data on labor and material costs burden and expense items, inventory, and profit‑and‑loss adjustments
• Develop and measure estimates versus standard and actual profitability
• Develop measurements and report Key Performance Indicators
• Distribute costs between the various divisions of management and production
• Classify production costs into wages, material, and overhead
• Support month‑end and year‑end general ledger close and financial reporting

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance is required
• Publicly traded experience is a plus (SOX)
• Cost accounting knowledge
• Manufacturing experience: 2+ years
• ERP software experience; SAP, Hyperion, Business Intelligence
• MBA / CMA / CPA preferred

$90,000 – $110,000 Base + Bonus
