The QTI Group is excited to partner with a Madison-area manufacturer to hire an Accounting and Payroll Specialist
. We are looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented employee prepared to handle core accounting functions as well as payroll processing and records.
$25-$30/hr + a full slate of generous benefits
LocationHybrid, located in Madison, WI
Accounting Responsibilities- Prepare and analyze daily billing and sales reports.
- Perform monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, and compile and review monthly financial statements.
- Contribute to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) initiatives.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning processes.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis and research.
- Prepare and input monthly royalty accruals for licensing programs and communicate results external third parties as required.
- Develop and input monthly broker commission accrual and prepare and distribute broker reports.
- Assist in preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual Sales & Use Tax returns.
- Identify and maintain vendors that require a 1099 or 1042-T form. Complete all required tax payments and forms.
- Assist with tax calendar and preparation for external audit accountants.
- Accurately process payroll for salaried, hourly, and temporary employees.
- Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting, including tax filings, 401(k), and workers' compensation.
- Monitor and maintain job code definition as related to general ledger postings.
- Ensure payroll and timekeeping systems are configured to match company policies. Liaison between Uniek, ADP, and Kronos.
- Maintain the payroll procedures, documentation, and training materials.
- Assist employees with pay-related questions.
- Prepare periodic payroll-related analysis, statements, and projections.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of two (2) years specialized experience in accounting/finance or related field.
- Experience with ERP systems (Infor CSI, SAP, Net Suite, etc.).
- Advanced Microsoft Office 365 experience (Excel, Word).
- Proficiency using general ledger and chart of accounts desired.
- High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in work.
- Strict confidentiality, and excellent communication.
