POSITION OVERVIEW
This position reports to the Controller and is responsible for payroll, regulatory submissions, and financial analysis projects.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages payroll workload. Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner.
- Act as administrator of payroll softoware including management of employee information.
- Collaborates effectively with Human Resources.
- Processes and remits benefit deductions within payroll system and with third party vendors (insurance, FSA, 403(b), etc.).
- Prepares and/or submits reports for compliance requirements.
- Prepares payroll journal entries and reconciles correlating general ledger accounts.
- Monitors accuracy and timeliness of payroll service provider tax filings, wage attachments, and garnishments.
- Assists in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures and payroll-related training.
- Contribute to special projects and create efficiencies through automation.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of payroll functions and general accounting principles.
- Accurate and detail oriented.
- Demonstrate organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and implement new software and automation
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to collaborate and foster teamwork to support Oakwood’s mission.
- Exercise professional judgment and work with minimal supervision.
- Information management skills and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to share constructive feedback.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND/OR TRAINING
- Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting with 7+ years relevant experience.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other data applications; advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
