Senior Accounts Payable Specialist
Full Time Assignee Madison, WI, US
Responsibilities- Oversee high volume invoice processing across entities and brands
- Receive, review, and process invoices from vendors
- Ensure invoices are coded correctly and match purchase orders or contracts
- Resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders
- Enter invoice data into the accounting system accurately
- Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers
- Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely payments
- Reconcile payment batches and resolve any issues promptly
- Maintain organized records of all payments made
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and any account discrepancies
- Address and resolve vendor inquiries and disputes
- Generate periodic accounts payable reports for management review
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Prepare documentation for audits and assist in audit processes
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records
- Support other accounting functions as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of high volume AP experience in a holdings company or matrix environment
- Proficiency in ERP (Net Suite) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem solving abilities and critical thinking skills
