Introduction
Use your accounting education or experience to serve as an Accountant with the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV)! This critical role is located in the Office of Compliance, Accounting and Technical Solutions. DMV collects over $1 billion annually in revenues from registration and driver license issuance.
This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Hill Farms State Office Building in Madison, WI at least 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday. This position will have the option to telework on Fridays. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin.
This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview. The anticipated work hours will be 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Position Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for daily, monthly, and yearly reconciliation, analysis and statistical reporting of revenues collected by the DMV. This position will also provide customer service by answering questions regarding bad check transactions, refunds of checks, etc.
Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range (07-04) with an annual salary of $56,160-$67,600 ($27.00/hr - $32.50/hr), plus excellent benefits
. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
Job Details

Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have all the following:
- A 4 year or master’s degree in accounting, finance or auditing or commensurate professional experience.
- Commensurate professional experience may include: experience performing accounting work for an organization with multiple funding sources as well as experience interpreting and analyzing complex financial data, accounts, ledgers and system processes. Commensurate experience may also include experience applying GAAP and GAAS principles.
- Experience reconciling financial statements, records, or accounts.
- Experience providing customer service in an office environment.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel or similar for accounting purposes.
- Experience with financial software systems.
- Experience utilizing professional accounting concepts and principles. (May include experience with: GAAP, GAAS, audit, debit, credits, double entry accounting, revenues, expenses, etc.)
