Accountant, Bookkeeper​/ Accounting Clerk, Accounts Receivable​/ Collections

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations for a growing organization. This contract opportunity offers a part-time schedule of approximately 20 to 25 hours per week with flexibility in how those hours are arranged, and the role may be performed remotely. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on accounting experience, confidence managing core transactional processes, and MUST have previous experience in App Folio.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate financial records by handling routine bookkeeping activities and keeping transactions properly organized within the accounting system.

- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure monthly financial activity is recorded completely and correctly.

- Manage customer billing and invoicing tasks, following up as needed to support timely and accurate payment collection.

- Oversee accounts payable processing by reviewing, coding, and recording vendor invoices for prompt payment.

- Monitor accounts receivable balances and update records to reflect incoming payments and outstanding items.

- Complete bank reconciliations on a regular basis, researching discrepancies and resolving issues efficiently.

- Use App Folio to process accounting transactions, maintain financial data, and support consistent reporting workflows.

Requirements

- Prior experience working in an accounting or bookkeeping role with responsibility for daily financial transactions.

- Hands-on proficiency with App Folio in an accounting environment that requires strong attention to detail.

- Solid knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and general bookkeeping practices.

- Experience preparing journal entries and performing bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail.

- Ability to manage a part-time workload independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.

- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a flexible remote setting.
