This position provides administrative program support to the leadership of the Department Neurological Surgery. It tracks, prioritizes, organizes, and completes multiple ongoing projects in various stages of progress. It also assists the department leadership in administrative affairs including budgeting, HR, payroll, and financials.

CompensationThe starting hourly wage is $26.02 per hour; negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include vacation, holidays, sick leave, competitive insurances, and retirement benefits.
Required Qualifications- At least one year of related experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, human relations, verbal and written communication skills.
- Courteous, responsive, and service oriented.
- Ability to work cooperatively to coordinate multiple projects and demonstrate independent decision-making.
- Considerable experience and proficiency in PC software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and calendar software; computer databases and spreadsheets.
- At least two or more years of related experience.
- Knowledge of UW Health and School of Medicine and Public Health policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of HIPAA requirements, ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
- Intermediate transcription skills.
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Develops, implements, and maintains methods and organizational systems for electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures.
- Provides HR administrative support.
- Answers reimbursement or travel questions and provides information based on materials and standards; reviews transaction processing internal controls and recommends policies and procedures.
- Audits or reconciles original purchase documents with payments.
- Audits or processes advanced transactions and assigns funding codes per established rules, regulations, and policies.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for individuals and groups, providing organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums.
- Prepares and audits complex records, edits documents, and reviews work done by others.
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations.
- Develops, sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to policies and procedures.
