Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Education Manager, the Administrative Assistant III supports the missions of the Department of Dermatology by coordinating several operational and ad hoc duties. This position provides critical administrative support to the clinical faculty and includes the research faculty for their education focus supporting undergraduate and graduate school courses for the Department of Dermatology. This detail-oriented position requires excellent administrative, organizational, and communication (oral, written, and electronic) skills as well as computer proficiency.
It requires considerable professionalism, confidentiality, independent initiative, sound judgment, analytic ability, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage competing priorities as well as the ability to work independently in dealing with the diverse elements of the complex organization of UW‑SMPH.
Work location may include some in‑person onsite duties at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely at an offsite, non‑campus location. Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Key Job Responsibilities- Serves as a primary point of contact for individuals and groups, providing organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums.
- Develops, implements, and maintains methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures.
- Develops, sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures.
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations.
- Prepares and audits complex records, edits documents, and reviews work done by others.

The starting salary/hourly wage for the position is $25 per hour; it is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

- Minimum of two years’ administrative work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) as well as Webex and Zoom (or similar) required.
- Experience providing high‑level administrative support in an office setting.
- Experience in academic or medical administration.
High‑school diploma preferred.
