Position Summary
This position works under general supervision of the Operations Section Manager in the BECR. The associate will be responsible for processing incoming and outgoing bureau mail daily and department mail on rotation, leading the processing of payments for both bureaus, supporting the administrative duties of the BECR Child Care Background Check (providing assistance to regional offices, providers, and stakeholders), answering general inquiries from child care providers about regulation, licensing, background checks, or payments submitted to DCF, and assisting with special projects as directed by the Operations Section Manager.
SalaryStarting salary is $22.76 per hour ($23,670 annually), with pay based on the applicable compensation plan. The pay range is 02‑11 and a one‑year probationary period may apply. Current state employees who transfer will have pay determined by transfer rules.
Job DetailsFinal candidates may be required to allow a security background check. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States. The Department of Children and Families does not sponsor visas.
Qualifications- Minimally qualified applicants will have: experience working with confidential information in a professional setting; experience providing administrative support to stakeholders, including reviewing documents/applications, following up with the public or staff, scheduling meetings, and writing letters.
- Well‑qualified applicants will have: experience reviewing or editing documents, correspondences, or other written materials; experience using computer programs or database applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, Zoom/Teams) for business needs such as data entry, uploading supporting materials, and running reports.
